So Morgan and I were in the grocery store here in Murfreesboro the other day, when we passed a small display set up and packets of “Chocolate Gravy”. I was in shock, I mean seriously my face was like this :O ..Someone is paying to get this packet???
For those of you who don’t know, and I’m really curious to find out who doesn’t, Chocolate Gravy or chocolate syrup is just like what it’s name says, it’s warm chocolate syrup. Now, I grew up in Tennessee my whole life, and chocolate syrup is something I remember as a kid. Getting up at my Granny Betty’s house or at my home with my mom, we would have chocolate syrup for breakfast. And even one time my Jr. High School best friend talked me into eating it on pancakes. 😛 As I remember it, it wasn’t like gravy at all, it was syrup. I googled it and apparently people feel that you need to add flour to it. I don’t think I’ve ever had it with flour in it. For me it’s best with the basics water, sugar, and cocoa. Then serve it hot on biscuits or toast. Sounds odd I would guess to some people but don’t knock it til you try it.
I’m just kinda blown away that people can’t even mix up chocolate syrup, that we are buying this stuff by the packet in stores. It’s not like a Aujus sauce, which I have no clue what that stuff is made of. Or even a gravy to put over potatoes that needs love and all day. 🙂 It’s simple, it’s chocolate!
So my question to everyone is I’d like to know who knows what this is, and if you have had it did you like it? 😛
